Lame Orwellian headlines await

“Twitter Will Add Places to Its Posts” – NY Times

News of Twitter’s latest enhancement is all over the web (I’ve already tagged the official announcement via my del.icio.us account), but I felt particularly compelled to highlight this one, given the New York Times’s recent decision to “ban” (roughly) the use of “Twitter” and “tweet” by their writers.

As it turns out, if Twitter continues to make “news,” the Times will have no choice but to write about it. The article linked above? A fairly decent attempt.

“Twitter” = 13 (not including reference to “Twitter Places”)
“tweet” = 0 times – Columnist Claire Cain Miller followed the rules, explaining, “Twitter users who want to share their location click on a link that says ‘add your location’ when they write their post” (emphasis added).
